October 19 Webinar: Indigenous Ethical Wisdom

The topic of the next EPAC webinar is the seven sacred teachings. These Indigenous teachings are meant to guide one’s journey upon this earth. Truth, honesty, love, respect, wisdom, humility and courage are meant to show us how to walk a good path during our time in this life. This applies to our work and organizations as well as other settings. The seven teachings are Anishinaabeg, a word that means the original people. Drawing on this profound ethical wisdom, the presentation will explore the meaning of each of the seven teachings and what they mean in concrete terms for living a good life.

Our excellent guide for this webinar will be Christine Jamieson, PhD. A member of the Boothroyd First Nation (part of the Nlaka’pamux Nation Tribal Council) in the Fraser Canyon, British Columbia, Dr. Jamieson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Theological Studies at Concordia University in Montreal. She teaches courses in ethics and has taught a course on Indigenous Spiritualities since 2014. Since 2010, she has been doing research and writing on Indigenous themes related to ethics and spirituality.
