Cavoukian on Privacy and Data Ethics

Dr. Ann Cavoukian very generously recorded a video for EPAC in late July 2018. Dr. Cavoukian is a former information and privacy commissioner of Ontario and now heads the Privacy by Design Centre of Excellence, Ryerson University. She is recognized as a world authority in this area. Two themes of her 17-minute video on current issues in privacy and ‘big data’ are the need for a proactive ‘by design’ approach, and personal control rather than absolute secrecy.
