Charbonneau Commission: ethics in the construction industry

Diane Girard, member of EPAC and RÉOQ, reminds us that the Charbonneau Commission on corruption in contracting and management in Québec’s construction industry has issued its report. In French only, it runs to over a thousand pages; it is available at   https://www.ceic.gouv.qc.ca/fileadmin/Fichiers_client/fichiers/Rapport_final/Rapport_final_CEIC_Integral_c.pdf .

The recommendations call for better monitoring of public sector contracting, better support and protection of whistleblowers, and more expertise in the Transport Ministry; they also address the financing of political parties, ethical training for professionals, and the accountability of professional bodies.
